A look back at Fortytwo in 2015

2015 was another great year for Fortytwo. With a new look, a new brand and ever growing dynamic team, we proudly launched our Instant Messaging Gateway and Two-Factor Authentication solution. Here are some of our highlights from a memorable year.

Instant Messaging (IM) Gateway

In early June, we announced the launch of our Instant Messaging (IM) Gateway as an addition to our Advanced Messaging Platform (AMP). We are delighted to collaborate with Viber as our IM Gateway provider, enabling our clients to reach Viber users worldwide via our innovative instant messaging platform.

Forming part of AMP, our IM Gateway facilitates Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging in a breakthrough delivery method which sends messages via both IM and SMS. This allows our clients to take full advantage of the feature rich functionalities of IM, as well as brand exposure opportunities and its cost effectiveness compared with many other messaging solutions available. With this unique combination of the advanced capabilities of AMP and of the ubiquitous and reliable nature of A2P SMS, our IM Gateway offers a unified and very powerful messaging solution in a smartphone age.

Supporting the community

Founded in 1999 the LifeCycle (Malta) Foundation is committed to creating awareness and generating support for patients suffering from renal disease. Each year the LifeCycle team compete against grueling conditions as they take part in the LifeCycle Challenge – a long distance endurance event – with the aim of attracting public attention to the plight of patients of the Renal Unit and encouraging donations.

For the second year running, Fortytwo sponsored the 17th edition of the LifeCycle Challenge, which took the dedicated LifeCycle team to Iceland. To further show our support, we designed and implemented a purpose-built SMS notification system to facilitate communication between the cyclists, their loved ones and the support team. As part of this innovative development, the public were also able to subscribe to free SMS alerts and check on the team’s progress throughout the event.

Defying security breaches with our Two-Factor Authentication Solution

As an extension to our broad Application-to-Person (A2P) portfolio, Fortytwo launched Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) later in 2015.

Security hacks have become increasingly sophisticated in the last few years, and the traditional static passwords can no longer provide the level of security required to prevent login security breaches which happen all too frequently. This is where our Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) API solution steps in, providing a second layer of security to any type of login using a one-time verification code in addition to standard requirements. With our 2FA API solution, a code is sent directly to a mobile phone to verify the user and phone number, and creates a crucial secondary layer of authentication, in addition to securing accounts and preventing data theft.

New look, new brand

The past few months have brought about another stage in Fortytwo’s brand evolution. Since 2001, we’ve grown from a small team in Sweden to a trusted provider of global communication solutions, bridging the gap between our clients and their customers.

Our focus has always been our client and we work tirelessly to ensure that we exceed client expectations time and time again. Our new brand identity embodies our promise to keep our clients at the centre of everything we do.
