The successful candidate will also be responsible for designing, coding and modifying web applications & websites, according to given specifications alongside with other Frontend Developers within the team. He / She will also be very well organised, especially when it comes to documentation and GIT repositories.
The responsibilities for this position shall include but are not limited to:
Assist in, and ensure the technical feasibility of UI designs produced by our graphic designer, and proactively develop solutions to improve customer experience.
Maintain and proactively monitor our websites and take necessary measures to improve security and performance.
Collaborate within an AGILE dynamic development environment.
Create and update re-usable code libraries using PHP to streamline WordPress development cycle.
Document site architecture, changes made and facilitate maintenance.
Take care of responsiveness on tablets and mobile devices.
Integrate with 3rd party and internal systems via documented APIs and Google Analytics.
Put forward suggestions for improvements in existing software and ideas for new approaches, practices and technologies.
Strong software development skillsets with a minimum of 2 years’ experience building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice and de-facto standard plugins.
Proficient understanding of server-side programming using PHP and MySQL.
Strong knowledge of XML, JSON and REST web services.
Experience with html / CSS systems such as SASS and LESS.
Experience working with WordPress at PHP code level, including but not limited to:
Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions.
Creation of custom post types.
Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards.
Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code.
Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues.
Good understanding of Google Analytics and similar data mining services.
Familiar with GIT and/or other version control systems.
Flexibility and eagerness to identify, learn, and use new and changing technologies.
Documentation experience and knowledge of documentation standards (UML).
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
May also be considered an asset:
Experience in application UI/UX design.
Experience creating multi-lingual websites.
Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite).
University degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related subject.
Certification related to web development will be considered an asset.
