Legal Counsel and DPO

Our team is expanding, and we are now looking for a Legal Counsel and DPO who will provide

comprehensive and advanced in-house legal support to the CEO and the other members of the

management team and to ensure compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

We are exploring ways to grow our team and in taking ownership of this role, your main areas of responsibility will be to:

Provide accurate and timely counsel to the CEO and the management team on a variety of legal
Advising on a wide range of commercial matters such as intellectual property, technology,
Advise on complex matters of any nature with different stakeholders within the Company
Research, evaluate and provide counsel on different risk factors regarding business decisions
Provide training and educate staff members on data protection regulations and compliance.
Serve as the main point of contact within the Company for team members, regulators and
Responsible for all the data management monitoring procedures and legal compliance within
Identifying legal issues, analysing and proactively advising on possible solutions.
Draft agreements, contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents to ensure the Company’s full
Lead the legal strategy to support the business growth and overall company strategy, change
Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance.
Maintain legal records as required.
Promote a culture of data protection and compliance across all departments.
Perform audits, determine and advise whether the Company needs to make changes to comply
Research and assist with policies and procedures as required.
Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required from time to time to fulfil the business needs.

In possession of a law degree from an accredited institution.
Proven experience as a Legal counsel and extensive experience in drafting commercial contracts
Expertise and solid working experience in data protection and legal compliance.
Proactive and self-starter who can manage his/her own workload and efficiently handle
A strong understanding of Maltese and European laws.
A strong team player and leader with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and
An effective communicator with fluency in English.
Knowledge of Maltese and Italian languages will be considered an asset.
Ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and drive them to successful completion.
Ability to work under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Good people skills and ability to work in a team environment.
